Comparison between printed books and online books

1. If you are reading a book and wish to look for a particular topic, you
open it at the page where you can see the table of contents, then you look
for the topic. Afterwards, when you found the page number of that topic, you
open the book on that page.

The problem comes when you want to look for a keyword in the book. It is
very difficult and you may need to read several entire pages to find what
you're looking for.

2. If your reading a document online and wish to look for a particular topic,
you still need to open the page called "The table of contents," and after
finding the link to the topic, you click it and the page you are looking for
is shown on screen.

However, if the table of contents is very large, you can use your browser's
or Word document's search/find feature, then type a word or keyword which you
are looking for. The computer itself will find the words. Thus, you do not
need to read each line (as you need to do with a book) to find the topic you
are looking for.

The search/find tool can also be used to look for keywords inside pages.

Another advantage of reading a document online is that you can use a
computer program to help you in your research. It is difficult to use such
technologies when reading "actual/real" books.

Plus, many online documents cost less than "actual" books do. This is
because the publisher or distributor of online documents do not need to spend
money for printing costs/expenses if he/she wishes to distribute such.

Regarding the color/design/layout of online documents/books, they can be
changed easily, especially with the help of a particular computer program.
You can hardly change the colors in an actual book, how much more its design
and layout?

It is easier to make changes to an online document/book then provide such
changes or updates to customers.

With a real or actual book, your updates need to wait until your next
issue/version.
